GD Museums is one of the oldest museums in South India and has various experience zones all inside the same campus.

Aside from the obvious experience of art, science, culture and history; GD Museums offer an astonishing gateway into remarkable planning and implementation of meticulous work that can be witnessed all under one roof!

Conveniently situated in the heart of the Coimbatore city on the arterial Avinashi road, GD Museums is accessible easily by all means of road and attracts thousands of visitors every day!

The idea for building the GD Museums started as early as the 1950’s when our founding father, Sri. GD Naidu wanted a permanent space to showcase the interesting equipment and machinery he bought from abroad every time he travelled. Thus our GD Science Museum was born in 1950 and is still one of the main attractions in the GD Museums campus. It is located on the ground floor of the old building and also houses the GD Naidu Memorial Gallery.

While the GD Science Museum gives a glimpse of the evolution of technology in gadgets; GD Naidu Memorial gallery gives a glimpse of the life history and achievements of Mr. GD Naidu! Some of the collections that you find here are very rare and could not be found anywhere else in the world.

Another striking experience zone in the campus is the Gedee Car Museum! Set up in 2015, it is the only vintage car museum of its kind in South India. With over 100 amazing and rare-to-find motor cars, every car has a history, uniqueness and story to share! This museum also is extended to another gallery specially for the Indian made cars and overall is a delight for car enthusiasts from around the world!

GD Museum’s latest and most exhilarating addition of an experience zone in 2023 is the Experimenta Science Centre! It is an all interactive science centre that matches international standards in providing an exploratory experience to children on various concepts of science.

It has more than 120 engaging interactive exhibits and the main objective of the Science Centre is to stimulate curiosity, develop an engaging mind and enable children and adults to learn science in an informal, practical and fun-filled manner.

Experimenta also houses STEM Labs (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to gain additional knowledge by way of experimenting the various concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Arts under qualified mentors.

You can choose to spend an entire day at GD Museums as it would easily take 8 hours to see all of our experience zones one after another! We have combo tickets available that will help you to plan your whole day inside our campus with your school/college group, friends or family!
